BW Water secures major contract for semiconductor fab in India

Strengthening BW Water’s track record in high-growth markets

SINGAPORE – April 15, 2026 – BW Water has secured a major contract to provide the wastewater treatment and reclaim system for a semiconductor wafer fabrication facility in Gujarat, India.

BW Water’s semiconductor wastewater treatment system will process flow rates exceeding 1600 cubic metres per hour, enabling large volume manufacturing of semiconductor chips at the foundry.

The project will be led by BW Water’s team in Asia, with support from experts in Germany, Singapore and the Engineering Centre in the Philippines, driven by a local project execution team.

“This win marks BW Water’s first project in India, and our company’s contribution towards supporting a resilient electronics and semiconductor supply chain in the country,” says Matthew White, Executive Chairman, BW Water.

This is the eighth project for BW Water in the fast-growing semiconductor industry – BW Water first entered the market designing, engineering and fabricating various process systems such as hydrofluoric acid systems, reverse osmosis skids, and pumps and valves. In 2025, BW Water had successfully delivered a complete wastewater treatment package and drainage system in Asia.

“This project reflects BW Water’s continued expansion into high-growth sectors and reinforces our ability to deliver complex, large-scale water solutions for advanced industries,” says Danies Chan, Vice President, Asia, BW Water. “We look forward to supporting our customers in India and globally, as demand for sustainable and resilient semiconductor manufacturing continues to grow.”
